As a member of the Welsh Surgical Society and whilst an Associate member of the British Orthopaedic Association I have regularly presented, or been involved in the presentation of, my research interests at their meetings. The presentation of the external fixation of Colles' fractures at the Welsh Surgical Society Winter Meeting 1985 was awarded the Society prize.
